Play On! - A New Chapter

For years, Play On! has shown up in communities across Canada with one simple idea: put a stick in someone’s hands, close a street, and let people play.

That idea still matters. But Canada has changed—and so are we.

Over the past few years, Play On! Canada has hit pause and reset.

We’re taking a hard look at why this project is needed, how we operate, how these events feel, and how we connect with communities. Not because Play On! stopped working—but because doing the same thing over and over doesn’t build the future Canadians are asking for.

Canada needs connection right now. Real connection.
Not louder events. Not higher barriers. Not more distance.

So we’re rebuilding Play On! from the street up.

That means:

* More local voices shaping events
* More flexible, community-driven formats; events will now happen when the community wants them to happen
* Fewer barriers to play
* A renewed focus on belonging over spectacle

This next chapter isn’t about nostalgia or going bigger.
It’s about going **closer**—to neighbourhoods, to people, and to what Canada needs right now.

Play On! is being re-imagined, and Canadians are invited to help shape what comes next.

Same game.
New energy.
A reset designed for now.

Play On! Canada invites you to be part of this next chapter, built together.
